Emilio is an environmental solicitor with a strong foundation in criminal, public, and regulatory law. He has experience advising on environmental and planning casework both domestically and internationally.
Emilio’s experience includes:
- Bringing claims against water and sewerage companies for their pollution of rivers, lakes, and coastal areas with raw sewage.
- Developing strategic litigation with an environmental NGO against the UK government for failing to stop air pollution in the UK.
- Initiating prosecutions against companies and individuals operating illegal waste sites.
- Acting for a local community pursuing a judicial review of a Welsh Government decision to build on a greenfield site.
- Acting for indigenous Brazilian communities affected by a British multinational company’s mining operations.
- Assisting an environmental NGO with a case relating to air pollution emanating from a landfill site.
- Dealing with requests made under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004.
- Assisting with a group claim against car manufacturers that had cheated emissions tests resulting from ‘Dieselgate’.
